I can share the experience with Cloud failure with you. My site is located in Google App Engine. A few days ago, an important service called Memcache failed for several hours. It allows pages to store frequently used data. It is usually used to avoid accessing the database every time you load the page.
This is why the whole site partially did not work. Numerous places only showed blank pages without data. But after a few hours, they fixed it. The error affected all Google App Engine users alike. I like how Google is documenting the whole story. They did not hide anything, and the entire repair process and subsequent analysis are available on their web.
